Welcome to the Dev Area!
cuneAform has become a lot more than
just one person can handle. Henceforth, cuneAform is now
a community project. Over the next few months we'll get
more organized and will release a new version of
cuneAform.
In order to become more community oriented
cuneAform will need more people to help develop it. To
take part in the development of cuneAform email me at devlinks@gmail.com.
Here are some ways you can help out:
1) Every Bug Needs to Go
Take a peek over at Bugzilla. More than
likely you'll see bugs, lots of them. We'd like to see
every last one gone. Regrettably, we're already busy
ourselves and need some help. That's where you can help.
Go through the bug list and see if you can help out with
some of the bugs. If you can, post in the forum or
contact us to tell us you can fix it, then, post/email
the fix. You'll get your name in the credits, and we'll
be forever grateful :-)
2) A Nice UI Would Be......Nice
If you've used cuneAform for any amount of
time you've noticed that it's UI could use a boost. If
your a graphics designer or know how to make a nice
UI...Contact Us! We'd like to make cuneAform as good as
the big boys, it needs to look it's part. You'll get the
same thanks as above :-)
3) Become a Core Developer
Hey, we can always use another core
developer. If you feel you have what it's got, contact
us. Also, if you already have a project you'd like to
donate, we can integrate it into our project.
4) Answer Questions
If you think you know cuneAform inside out,
join the mailing list and help out newbie users with
their problem. This keeps the developers time for
make cuneAform better.
5) Spread the Word!
Tell the world on your Blog, website, or tell
just your computing friends. We appreciate those who
link to us!
Overall the project will need a lot of
help if it will be a success. This is defiantly good
experience for your resume. Anyways, take a look around
and if you like what you see, then hopefully you'll give
something back!

Get the Code
Unlike other mozdev.org projects,
cuneAform's sourcecode is not available via CVS.
You'll need to follow these directions to get it:
Download the cuneAform install package (*.xpi)
by right clicking the link and Save Link/Target As...
then rename the resulting file from cuneaform*.xpi to
cuneaform*.zip and extracting the package. Then
rename cuneaform.jar to cuneaform.zip and extract that.
Guidelines
Of course this project will need ground rules for its operation, so here they are. Fill in any empty spaces with the MPL.
Versioning
Versions shall be marked as defined below.
Full Versions shall be numbered as the key version number followed by a sub-number of zero (eg: 5.0 or 3.3.0)
Patched Versions shall be numbered first with their full version number, followed by a dash, then a 8 key change number as show in the following manner:
Full.Version.Number-XPI.XUL.HTML.JavaScript.Toolbar.Images.CoreEditor.Other
With 0 used if there is no change and increased by 1 for each update to that module. For Example the version number 3.3.0-0.0.0.0.0.1.0.1 would mean only a change in Images and Other modules. This is done to allow for better version and patch tracking.
Licensing
cuneAform shall be distributed under the Mozilla Public License or MPL in any of it's versions.
Webpage content and documentation made by the community are distributed under the Creative Commons-No Derivatives-Share alike licensing
model.
Developers
Developers may be added to core development team at any time if the majority of current core developers agrees to this.
Marketing
cuneAform shall be marketed under the name cuneAform for the community and it's works or cuneAform Editor for the editor only. cuneAform should not and shall not be marketed by any active or inactive developer or user as cuneAform HTML Editor unless specifically defining usage to HTML documents.
Changing of Guidelines
Guidelines may be removed from, added to or changed only with the express agreement of the majority of developers.
Developer Spin-off
A developer may only make another program under the cuneAform name in one or more of the following cases
1) The program is to further cuneAform development and all progress will be supplied to the core developers or entire cuneAform community.
2) The program is for personal/business use and will not be released to the general public and will not be distributed to more than 500 people a year.
Spin-offs of the cuneAform code base that
do not fit into one of the above cases is allowed within the guidelines specified by the MPL and that the cuneAform name is not used in the programs name. cuneAform must be mentioned however within a publicly accessible portion of the program as where some of the code for the application originated.
The cuneAform project may make a "spin-off" or reuse the cuneAform name at any time for any reason as long as it is used with the express consent of the community.
Bug List
We always appreciate
